[MHN Che Jiwon reporter / translated by Jung Halim] The Jeonju International Film Festival reveals the films in their headlining program, the 'Cinema Project 2020'.

The Jeonju IFF committee revealed on May 15th three films they have selected for the project, which are 'Three Sisters' by Lee Seungwon, 'A Distant Place' by Park Kunyoung, and 'Afterwater' by Dane Komljen.

The committee explained that the selections traverse the line between documentary and fiction, observe the relationship between society and the individual, and will expand the notion of what cinema as an art can do.

Director Lee Seungwon's 'Three Sisters' show the daily lives of three sisters with different personalities, and asks about the meaning of family life.

'A Distant Place' deals with the conflict that occurs when the two families of an old couple come to meet them, and is director Park Kunyoung's second feature.

Director Dane Komljen's 'Afterwater' follows the main character leave the city and set up a tent next to a lake, all the while reading books, eating fruit, and exploring a forest, showing her changed life.

The official selection of the Jeonju 'Cinema Project 2020' will be screened at theaters through an extended screening schedule until September 20. During the original dates of the festival starting from May 28 to June 6, the Jeonju IFF will proceed to have the jury screenings and online screenings.
