[MHN Lee Jisook reporter / translated by Jung Halim] With just two more days before the final episode, 'The King: Eternal Monarch' has Kim Go Eun found bloodied in a forest on the ground, raising the tension.
Having it's first broadcast in April 17th, the SBS drama 'The King: Eternal Monarch has its final episode on the 12th. It has its fateful love story between Emperor Lee Gon of the Korean Empire and the detective Jun Tae Eul of the Republic of Korea, and completes the genre of the parallel universe fantasty romance.
Last episode showed Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) afraid that the 'dimentional gate' will close completely, having her forget all her memories of Lee Gon. Especially of note was how Jung Tae Eul tearfully begged Kim Kyung Nam, who has caught Lee Lim (Lee Jung Jin), to take her with him, back into the 'dimentional door'.
The 16th episode shows Kim Go Eun covered with blood, surrounded by people staring at her, predicting a last minute twist. She appears there after following Lee Lim, and wakes up from the ground with a foggy mind surrounded by people talking about her. She attempts to focus as she looks around with a soulless expression, and calls someone, and breaks into tears. The reasons for why the forest is how filled with Kim Tae Eul's desperate cries, whether the forest now is filled with conflict remains to be seen.
Kim Go Eun's bloody, forestal screen was filmed back in May in Ulsan. Kim Go Eun prepared for the shoot by reading her script while down on the ground, and continued to grasp her emotions. As the shoot started, she showed her passion for the project by falling down on the ground over and over again for each take. When she finally got the 'Ok' sign from the director, she brushed herself off as if nothing had happened, gave a soft smile, and monitored her acting, looking not at her looks but at her acting.
Hwa & Dam Pictures stated that, "Kim Go Eun's active and refreshing personality and her emotional crying performance gained empathy from the viewers, and is a strong center for the parallel world romance,' and added, "'The King: Eternal Monarch' has a unpredictable plot to the very end. We hope that you will stay with the fascinating and serious plot to the very end."
'The King: Eternal Monarch' has its final episode on the coming 12th, at 10pm KST.
