[MHN Roh Pooleun] K-pop's one of the most successful girl band TWICE's new EP 'MORE & MORE' has achieved unprecedented success.
The song has topped local music charts, Japanese charts, local brand rankings for K-pop girl groups, and even entered Billboard 200 for the first time.
TWICE’s 'MORE & MORE' also opens at No. 2 on the World Albums chart, almost becoming their second leader on the listing (they come in right behind BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7). The set is one of their 11 top 10s on the tally.
Album sales have marked enormous scores as well. Gaon Chart reports that as of morning of June 9, 2020, 'MORE & MORE' has officially sold a total of 550,000 copies in album shipments making it the group's highest record yet.
'MORE & MORE' features seven songs that tell a story of youthful energy and confidence. “The title track is about trying to win someone else’s heart,” says member Nayeon. “MORE & MORE is animated, full of confidence, even cute; in contrast, the dancing is incredibly powerful and energetic.”
Title track 'MORE & MORE' features an impressive line-up of composers including Grammy-nominee MNEK, Swedish songwriter Zara Larsson, and Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels (both of whom have written for Britney Spears, Selena Gomez, and Justin Bieber, to name a few).
Several TWICE members participated in the composition process. Chaeyoung and Jeongyeon wrote the lyrics to 'Sweet Summer Day' and Nayeon penned 'Make Me Go.'
